Your first steps in Duskveil
From your account to your first login: follow these four steps.

Create an account
Your website username and password also work in the game. Choose your character name after logging in.

Download the client
Choose one of the mirrors below. You only need one client archive.

Unpack and update
Extract the whole archive into its own folder. Start m2dv_patch.exe from that folder and wait for the update to finish.

Choose your game language
On the game login screen, choose your language using the language selector. Confirm the restart, then log in with your account.
The website, patcher and game have separate language settings. Changing the website language does not change the game language.

System requirements and components
Duskveil requires 64-bit Windows. Before your first launch, check your system and install any missing components using the official links below.
Minimum configuration: a guide
- Operating system
- Windows 10 / 11 x64 recommended. Windows 7 SP1 / 8.1 x64: see the conditions below. 32-bit Windows cannot run this client.
- Processor
- 64-bit, 2 cores, 2 GHz or faster.
- Memory
- 4 GB or more; 8 GB recommended for comfortable play.
- Graphics card
- Hardware DirectX 9 support and at least 512 MB video memory. DirectX 11 mode requires Feature Level 10_0 or higher.
- Free disk space
- At least 10 GB for the client, archive extraction and updates. SSD recommended.
- Internet
- A stable, continuous connection for login, play and updates.
This is a guide for low settings, not a measured hardware minimum. Crowded areas need more resources. On a low-end PC, select DirectX 9 and the low-end PC profile in the game settings.

Required by client libraries: MSVCP140, VCRUNTIME140 and VCRUNTIME140_1. Use the current x64 package on Windows 10/11. Windows 7/8.1 needs the separate Visual C++ 2019 package; whether it is sufficient for this build still needs verification.

Required by the bundled Python 2.7 (MSVCR90.dll). Install x64; the modern Visual C++ package does not replace the 2008 version.

Legacy DirectX libraries. The full client already includes D3DX9_43.dll. If it is missing, restore the client or extract this package and run DXSETUP.exe. DirectX 11/12 does not replace these libraries.

Required by the patcher and config.exe. We recommend .NET Framework 4.8 Runtime; Windows 10/11 may already have 4.8 or 4.8.1 installed. Choose 4.8, not 4.8.1, for Windows 7 SP1/8.1.

Graphics driver
Install a manufacturer driver matching your GPU and Windows version. Laptop users can also use the laptop manufacturer's website. Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is insufficient for normal play.
Windows 7 and 8.1: before launching
This build has not yet been tested on Windows 7/8.1, so compatibility is not guaranteed. The components below are prerequisites, not confirmation that the game will run. We recommend Windows 10/11 x64 for a predictable launch.
- Windows 7 requires SP1 x64, available system updates, .NET Framework 4.8 and D3DCompiler_47.dll (KB4019990). June 2010 does not install D3DCompiler_47. Also check Platform Update KB2670838 for DX11 mode; use DX9 on older GPUs. KB4019990 · KB2670838

Python, Miles and game DLLs come with the client; you do not need a separate Python installation. Extract the entire archive and keep all files with the game.
